About

Rebel Mountain Press

Rebel Mountain Press

Founded in 2015, Rebel Mountain Press provides opportunities to Canadian authors who might not otherwise be heard, such as those from the LGBTQ2+ community, authors of Aboriginal descent, or those from other marginalized groups. Our aim is to create books that are insightful and promote greater social awareness and tolerance.

We strive to publish books that will make a strong artistic and cultural contribution to Canadian literature—to illuminate the experiences of Canadians of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations, giving readers the perspective and insight necessary to empathize with and understand others from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Rebel's anthology title, Breaking Boundaries: LGBTQ2 Writers Coming Out and Into Canada has been nominated for the 2019 BC BookWorld's George Ryga Award for social awareness.

All Lit Up acknowledges we are hosted on the lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat. We also recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and the Inuit people, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to meet and work on this territory.
