Celebrate Short Story Month with an Anthology of Canadian Short Stories from the LPG

At this point, it seems safe to say that pretty much anyone who identifies as a bit of a bookworm is aware that the short story is currently enjoying a bit of a renaissance. In Canada this is in no small part due to the recent Nobel Prize win by the master of the format, Alice Munro. Given this rediscovered love of the short story it was only a matter of time before it got its own celebratory month treatment National Poetry Month. In fact, May 2013 was celebrated as the first ever International Short Story Month.

At this point, it seems safe to say that pretty much anyone who identifies as a bit of a bookworm is aware that the short story is currently enjoying a bit of a renaissance. In Canada this is in no small part due to the recent Nobel Prize win by the master of the format, Alice Munro.

Given this rediscovered love of the short story it was only a matter of time before it got its own celebratory month treatment a la National Poetry Month. In fact, May 2013 was celebrated as the first ever International Short Story Month.

With so many great short story collections in the collective LPG publishers’ backlist we couldn’t not celebrate this year. What can we say, we’re booklovers – we’ll take any opportunity we can to talk about books!

So this May we’ll be highlighting 12 new or recently released short story collections published by our members throughout the month on our blog.

BUT WAIT… there’s more!!

Not only are we sharing behind-the-scenes insights from the publishers and authors we’ll be featuring, we’ve also created an ebook sampler with a story from each collection!
