The Land Speaks

By (author): Jadyn Williams

When a young girl visits her special place on the land with her Mosôm, she learns that every season carries a gift. Together, they greet, listen, learn, and give thanks. As the seasons change, so too does her relationship with her grandfather. When she must return to the land on her own, she discovers that his teachings are still with her in the sky, the ground, and the animals all around her. The Land Speaks is a gentle, poetic story about love, loss, and the teachings we carry forward.

Reviews

Jadyn Williams invites us into a gentle, rhythmic journey through the seasons, guided by the steady presence of her wise Mosôm (Grandpa) and the curiosity of a young heart. With each visit, the land reveals gifts: the soft returning of spring, the fullness of summer, the letting go in autumn, and the deep rest of winter. But this story offers more than the turning of seasons—it reminds us that the land is not simply a backdrop to our lives, but a living teacher, waiting patiently for us to slow down, sit, and notice. This book does not rush. It breathes. And in that space, young readers are given permission to be still, to observe, and to belong.
