Patrick White was born in 1948 at Campbell River, British Columbia, and now lives in Ottawa. Formerly editor of Karaki, he is presently editing Anthos and was at one time producer-host of A Theft of Fire, a weekly radio programme. Winner of the 1973 Benny Nicholas Poetry Award at the University of Victoria and the 1978 Canadian Literature Award given by Folk and Poetry (Ottawa), he has published three previous collections of poetry.
