Rebecca Burton

Rebecca Burton has a BA in theatre and history from the University of Guelph, an MA in theatre from the University of Victoria, and a Ph.D. ABD status from the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. She is Membership and Professional Contracts Manager and Women’s Caucus liaison at the Playwrights Guild of Canada, where she co-founded Equity in Theatre (EIT) (2014–2017). Rebecca is also an editor, educator, researcher, and feminist theatre practitioner. She authored the benchmark report, "Adding It Up: The Status of Women in Canadian Theatre" (2006), and is published in various industry journals.
