~ For World Theatre Day, we played casting director with Norm Foster’s comedic play Skin Flick in Character Study.~ To help heal the Canada Reads elimination woes this week, we paired the debated books with our own recommendations.~ Speaking of Canada Reads, we couldn’t help but get in on the fun with staff picks.~ Every day in March we featured a personal essay from an author who immigrated to Canada in order to highlight underrepresented voices in CanLit. Our final piece is from author Gianna Patriarca who discusses identity and how her writing takes shape in different languages: “I let the poem choose the language it feels comfortable with and I allow the voice to make its mistakes.”
