What: Field Guide to Newfoundland and Labrador (Breakwater Books, 2014)

Who: Michael Collins, a biologist at Memorial University, has compiled and edited this amazing field guide with over 20 contributors. Michael holds a PhD in Science Education and has published several nature books.

Where in Canada: It should come as no surprise from the title where in Canada this book highlights! Filled with over 900 photographs and illustrations, from flora and fauna to ice bergs and weather, this is a comprehensive field guide to one of Canada’s most intriguing provinces.

With this field guide in hand, the LPG is in St. John’s this week to meet with our publishers and colleagues, along with the Association of Canadian Publishers, for our Annual General Meeting. We’re so excited to explore both the city and the ocean. Hopefully we’ll have some photos of whales and ice bergs to share!
