St. John’s-raised poet Sue Sinclair returns to the Island to give public readings on November 23 and November 25. Sinclair is the author of four books of poetry. The Drunken, Lovely Bird, her third book of poetry, was published by Goose Lane Editions in 2004. A fifth collection, Heaven’s Thieves, is based on her recently completed PhD work in philosophy on the subject of beauty and will appear in 2016 with Brick Books.
Sue Sinclair’s work has been nominated for the Gerald Lampert Award and was twice nominated for both the Atlantic Poetry Prize and the Pat Lowther Award. She grew in St. John’s and currently lives in Montreal.

The readings are presented by the Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador, in partnership with Grenfell campus, as part of its Come From Away Reading Series supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
