Arsenal Pulp Press has been publishing books in Vancouver since 1971. Arsenal focuses on literary fiction and non-fiction; cultural and gender studies; gay, lesbian, and multicultural literature; cookbooks; and guidebooks. They are interested in literature that traverses uncharted territories, publishing books that challenge people and ask questions about the world. Arsenal publishes between 15 and 20 titles a year; it has been shortlisted twice for the CBA’s Small Press of the Year Award, and in 2007 won the Jim Douglas Publisher of the Year Award from the Association of Book Publishers of BC.
