Poetry in Motion

My new poetry collection Some of Us May Live is an attempt to provoke new mappings of scientific knowledge as it relates to everyday experiences. It is a reflection of our entanglements in a more-than-human world in the midst of ecological crisis. The poems in this collection at times conflate the reader’s existence with animals, boulders, glaciers, oceans, black holes, revealing the multitude of shifting perspectives to get beyond human subjects in knowledge-building. The majority of the poems emerge from fragments from many sources, though mainly scientific texts, podcasts, and documentaries. These fragments are reorganized by theme, through which new juxtapositions reveal unexpected connections, that are then edited into poems. The title poem, “Some of Us May Live” spans at least fifteen years of compiled fragments.
