Poetry in Motion

My poems are meditative and introspective moments, distilled and compressed, yet building upon each other to create narrative. They are both the sensory of a moment and the movement in experience of it as a story.

They tend to involve characters in tension with their environments—with a troubled past, for instance, or a shifting present, or an uncertain ecological future.

They work collectively as something of a collage—images layered upon each other to form a story. I make collage alongside writing poetry—often quite minimalist, always asking: what is just enough?
