Chappy Hour: Vesuvius + Brazillian Presidente

When life gives you Fig Liqueur, you must seek out a reason to celebrate. Hugh Hazelton’s translation of Brazilian poet Zulmira Ribeiro Tavares is a fine reason to celebrate, as this is the first time Tavares’ work is available for an English audience. So, in today’s Chappy Hour, I grabbed a few friends* to help celebrate Vesuvius with a Brazillian Presidente.

When life gives you Fig Liqueur, you must seek out a reason to celebrate. Hugh Hazelton’s translation of Brazilian poet Zulmira Ribeiro Tavares is a fine reason to celebrate, as this is the first time Tavares’ work is available for an English audience. So, in today’s Chappy Hour, I grabbed a few friends* to help celebrate Vesuvius from Wolsak & Wynn with a Brazillian Presidente.
What You’ll Need:
2 oz. Leblon Cachaca (you can substitute white rum in a pinch)
1/2 oz. Fig Liqueur
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
Dash Grenadine
Fig slice for garnish
What to Do:Add ice to your shaker. Add cachaca, fig liqueur, sweet vermouth, and grenadine. Shake well then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a fig slice, serve.PS. If you find this cocktail too strong, we found that an ounce of persecco was just the right balance.
