Chappy Hour: Off Leash + A Pack of Cocktails

May is a great month for dog lovers – it’s warm enough to enjoy being outside with your pooch, but not yet the dog days of summer – so it seemed like the perfect month to feature Palimpsest’s new collection Off Leash by Dorothy Mahoney. In researching cocktails for this month’s column, I discovered that dog lovers also love drinks – there is a veritable pack of dog-themed cocktails to enjoy. I’ve included a couple below, but I encourage you to check this list for more breeds to imbibe.

For Toy Breeds: The Salty Chihuahua

What You Need:What to Do:Start by rimming a glass with the salt then fill with ice. Add tequila and grapefruit juice. Finish by garnishing with grapefruit slice.

For Lapdogs: The Regal Beagle

What You Need:What to Do:Fill a shaker with ice then add whisky, schnapps, and bar sour. Shake well. Strain into a 2 oz shot glass. Enjoy.

For Top Dogs: The Bulldog Smash

What You Need:What to Do:Muddle peach, mint, and sugar in a shaker. Add lemon juice, bourbon, and Cointreau. Add ice to fill then shake well. Strain mixture into glass and garnish with mint and/or a lemon slice. What to Read:
