Birk Sproxton’s books include the long poem Headframe:, the novel The Red-Headed Woman with the Black Black Heart, and the collection Phantom Lake: North of 54. He is the editor of The Winnipeg Connection, Trace: Prairie Writers on Writing, and Great Stories from the Prairies. He was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, where he grew up listening to tall tales of the North.
