Herbal Simpling Plain and Simple

By (author): Susan McDonald

In the early 1990s, Susan McDonald was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that threatened her life. The bad news: Her condition worsened as she underwent traditional medical treatments. The good news: Her condition improved as she studied and used alternative medicines, adopted a holistic lifestyle, and began her training as a naturopath and herbalist. She believes that everyone has a right to know all of the options available for healing.

In Herbal Simpling Plain and Simple she shares how you can: become an herbal simpler; understand physical symptoms; wildcraft herbs; and, create simple herbal preparations. Susan describes most of the major North American herbs in detail, along with the more controversial ones like ginseng, St. John’s wort, and licorice. She explains traditional uses, effectiveness, and contraindications. Her personal experience with these herbs makes this book unique, and her ten years’ experience as a retailer with a health food store in Port Hope has only increased her commitment to herbal remedies in their simplest form.
