Walter Bruce MacDonald

Walter Bruce MacDonald is a historian, novelist, poet, and teacher. He was born in New Westminster, B.C. and received his BA in English Literature from the University of Victoria and his MA in Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia. In 2011, Caitlin Press published The Good Hope Cannery: Life and Death at a Salmon Cannery, his highly regarded Rivers Inlet history book. In 2013, Caitlin published his acclaimed history of Canadian lacrosse, Salmonbellies vs. The World: The Story of the Most Famous Team in Lacrosse and Their Greatest Rivals. MacDonald is also the winner of THIS Magazine’s Poetry Award for Best Poem and has published numerous books of fiction.
