Peter Carravetta

Peter Carravetta is Alfonse M. D’Amato Professor of Italian and Italian American Studies at Stony Brook University (NY). He has published five books in critical theory, including The Elusive Hermes. Method, Discourse, Interpreting (Davies Group Publishing, 2013) and translated Martino Oberto’s Anaphilosophia (Campanotto, 1993) and Vattimo & Rovatti’s Weak Thought (SUNY P, 2012). He has written seven books of poetry, including Existenz (Adams Press, 1976), delle voci (Anterem, 1980), The Sun and Other Things (Guernica, 1998), and L’infinito (Campanotto, 2013). He is presently working on a novel
