Elyse Friedman

Elyse Friedman has written for screens large and small, radio, magazines and the stage. Her first novel, Then Again (Random House Canada) was a finalist for the 2000 Trillium Book Award. Crown U.S. will publish her second novel, Morph, in spring 2004. She has published poems and short fiction in journals across Canada, and in the US. The Malahat Review recently nominated her short story, “Truth”, for a National Magazine Award, as well as the 2003 Writers’ Trust of Canada /McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize. Friedman is a graduate of The Canadian Film Centre. She has penned six feature-length screenplays, four of which have been optioned or produced. Know Your Monkey is her first book of poems. She is currently working on a collection of short stories.
