About The Author
Myrna Dey
Myrna Dey grew up in Calgary and received a
B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Alberta. Following studies in Berlin,
she taught and studied German at the University of California, Berkeley, for
two years in the mid-sixties. She and her husband lived for six years in Guyana
before moving in 1976 to Kamsack, Saskatchewan, where they raised their three
daughters. Her short stories, articles, and essays have been published in
NeWest Review, Canadian Living,
National Post, The Globe and Mail, and
Macleans. Extensions, Myrna’s first
novel, was published by NeWest Press in October 2010, and was selected as the
first ever People’s Choice Nominee for the 2011 Giller Prize long-list in
September 2011. Her personal essay “Into The Storm” about her husband’s
dementia was runner-up in the Write for Chatelaine Contest
in 2014.
