Character Study: This House Is Not a Home

September 27, 2022

A clarion call for land back, Dene author Katłįà's unapologetic novel  This House Is Not a Home (Roseway Publishing) follows a Dene family who've returned home only to find that their home is no longer there. Katłįà has likewise created an unapologetically awesome dream cast list for the novel's movie adaptation - read on to see who she picked to play the protagonist, residential school survivor Kǫ̀, and other characters in the novel.

See more details below

Author Katłįà gave us a star-studded cast list for the film adaptation of  This House Is Not a Home (for the actors' sakes, we hope a certain ex-President films his scenes alone in front of a green screen):

The Cast:

Kǫ̀ - Jim Thorpe (Olympian and professional football, basketball, and baseball player)

Tsi - Melaw Nahkek'o (The Revenant)

Itoa - K. Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs)

Woods - D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs)

Dehse - Joel Oulette (Trickster series)

Mammia - Buffy St. Marie

Edna Manitowabi - (Indian Horse)

Walter - Donald Trump (need we say?)
