How to tell if you are compatible with Rom Com by Dina Del Bucchia & Daniel Zomparelli (Talonbooks): Are you equally versed in literature and pop culture? Are you a film-savvy fan of contemporary poetry? Are you an academic with interest in literature and cultural studies? Are you in general a cool, sad person? This book might just be the sassy best friend you’ve wanted.
We’ve paired a candy-infused bourbon cocktail with this collection.
What You Need:
For the Infused Bourbon (Make 24hrs in advance):
One 750-ml bottle bourbon
¾ cup (6 oz.) Red Hots cinnamon candies
For the Cocktail:
2 oz. infused bourbon
2 oz. fresh orange juice, strained
Ice
1 long orange peel strip, for garnish
What to Do:
Make the infused bourbon:
In a large jar, combine the bourbon and Red Hots. Let them sit overnight for the bourbon to infuse; it will take on a deep red color. Strain the mixture and discard any remaining Red Hots.
Make the cocktail:
Wrap the orange peel around the inside of a rocks glass then fill it with crushed or pebbled ice. In a mixing glass, combine the infused bourbon, orange juice, and ice. Stir and strain the liquid into the rocks glass. Enjoy.
