Denman Island, BC

Denman Island Writers' Festival

Where: The Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival takes place in three venues, all located in the village centre.  When you arrive on Denman Island, you will find an intersection at the top of the hill coming off the ferry. Go left at this intersection and you will see the Arts Centre, General Store, Community School and Community Hall on your right, and on your left, the hardware store, Abraxas Books and the  Activity Centre  where registration takes place and books are on sale. Saskatchewan Festival of Words

Where: Moose Jaw Public Library, Moose Jaw Cultural Centre, and other venues around Moose Jaw, SK

When: July 13-15

More information: The Saskatchewan Festival of Words (established in 1996) is a registered charity and non-profit organization that holds an annual literary festival the third weekend in July with over 50 events over 4 days in and around historic downtown Moose Jaw.

Port Rexton, NL

Where: Fishers' Loft Inn, Convention Centre, Port Rexton, NL

When: 5:45-7pm

More information: NL artist Gerry Squires was a friend to Trinity Bight area on the Bonavista Peninsula. His painting of the Skerwink Trail stack is iconic. Come celebrate the work of this esteemed artist and hear Stan Dragland and Michael Crummey read from their essays from the book, Gerald Squires. This event will be held in the Fishers' Conference Centre.
