Tuesday, September 6th

Montreal

Resonance Reading Series

Where: Café Resonance, 5175A Av du Parc, Montreal, Quebec

More information: Resonance Reading Series presents Stephen Thomas, author of The Jokes. Also featuring JC Bouchard, Cyrus Cassells and Laurie D. Graham.

 

Peterborough, ON

Show and Tell Poetry Series

Where: The Garnet, 231 Hunter Street West, Peterborough, Ontario 

When: 8-10pm

More information: Monty Reid, Frances Boyle and Joseph Cassidy-Skof are featured readers at this event. Monty will read from his new poetry collection Meditatio Placentae and Frances will be reading from her first poetry collection Light-carved Passages.

We will be STARTING THE READINGS at 8PM. Doors will be open all day long, as it’s a bar, so please do your best to arrive before 8PM so you can have a few minutes to peruse the book table, get yourself a drink, find a seat, and meet the readers!

Winnipeg

dis/Ability issue launch

Where: Sam’s Place 159 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba

When: 7:30pm-9pm

More information: We’re back on our feet again with the Dis/Ability Issue R39. Free admission – but there will be a collection plate passed around before we finish. You can buy copies of R39 for $10.00, $2.00 off the cover price. Sam’s has free parking, a bus stop right out front, and is accessible. Also books and food service!

Ruth Enns will be reading from her non-fiction story “Epidemic” in R39 about the 1950s polio epidemic that swept southern Manitoba. Angeline Schellenberg will read from her debut collection Tell Them it was Mozart, and Kevin Spenst joins us by Skype from Vancouver.
