In Canadian Crime Lit Circles, readers are introduced to two separate, yet distinctly important groups of sleuths: the amateurs, who stumble upon crimes taking place around them, and the professionals, who tackle dirtbags for dollars. These are their stories.

We first met thirteen-year-old October Schwartz in Evan Munday's debut novel, The Dead Kid Detective Agency, when she had just moved to Sticksville with her dad. She soon befriends a posse of teenagers in the local cemetery who turn out to be ghosts, and they form the Dead Kid Detective Agency to solve mysterious happenings around Sticksville. After their first case, we met them again in Dial M for Morna, then in their latest adventure, Loyalist to a Fault.
