Voices from Abroad: Thin Air Festival

More information: We are teaming up again with the Friends of Ralph Connor House and the University Women’s Club to bring you a Sunday afternoon of great writing with an international flavour. The setting is the historic home of Rev. Dr. Charles William Gordon, better known as Ralph Connor, the wildly popular writer of frontier adventure novels.

Transplanted South African Méira Cook will read from her new novel, Nightwatching, set in apartheid South Africa. Irish novelist and playwright Kitty Fitzgerald justifies the reputation of Irish storytellers. And the poetry of Denmark’s  Ulrikka S. Gernes gives us a glimpse of the cadence and rhythm of her homeland. Guided tours of the mansion begin at 1:30 pm. Readings begin at 2:30 pm, and will be followed by an on-stage conversation led by Festival Director Charlene Diehl. Seating is limited.
