There are two things we love here at ALU: Canadian Literature and surprises… so we’ve put these two things together into one giant Super Secret Festival of Lit to celebrate the holiday season. If you have a reader on your gift list or you like surprises yourself, then listen up!
There are two things we love here at ALU: Canadian Literature and surprises… so we’ve put these two things together into one giant Super Secret Festival of Lit to celebrate the holiday season.
The "secret" portion of our Super Secret Festival of Lit is over because one thing we’re not very good at here at ALU is keeping secrets. As of December 1st we’ll be revealing our mystery titles one by one, right here on our blog.
Each day we’ll let you in on the secret of one of the titles plus share four more books curated to that day’s particular theme. If you purchase any of the titles mentioned between December 1st and December 18th, we’ll send you a free set of our CanLit holiday cards*.

We’ve preempted some questions we thought we might be asked frequently about ALU’s Super Secret Festival of Lit, so if you have any, check here first!
What if I’m shipping the book directly to the gift’s recipient?
We can fill out the card for you! Simply write the card’s message in the comments section of your order - we’ll transcribe it in our neatest handwriting and pass it on to your giftee.
What if I miss the mystery part of ALU’s Super Secret Festival of Lit?
If you fail to get your hands on one of the five bundles for each of themed mystery titles, never fear, our Festival of Lit doesn’t just end on November 30th: We’ll begin revealing the books on December 1st. While the mystery titles will no longer be available to purchase at a 15% discount, you’ll have a chance to purchase them at regular price (or four additional titles curated to each day’s theme by our reading reindeers) and receive a FREE set of our CanLit holiday cards (until December 18th).
